Car washing
When I was 13 I began my own summer job washing cars. I worked one full day a week and earned between £30 and £50 a day.
I wrote my own application letter and took it in person to potential customers, which was very scary but gave me the basic skills and confidence to develop other small business ideas as I got older.
I learned the value of time and money and this helped me understand the value of things in my life. -

JP Sandwiches
When I was in year 12 I began a small enterprise making and selling sandwiches at school. I made between £25 and £40 a day.
I completed market research to find out what would sell, and what price point would get the most custom with a profit margin. I sourced quality ingredients at the best price. I made a meal deal menu and took orders via Whatsapp each day.
I learned about investment, profit margins, brand trust, quality and value for money. -

Resale shop
I currently operate a resale shop on Vinted and Depop selling branded goods. I source some goods from high quality charity shops and others are purchased and sold on at a profit.
I sell trainers, clothes, electrical goods, bags and accessories.
I have learned about profit margins and bulk buying.
