‘No matter how good you get you can always get better, and that’s the exciting part’
Tiger Woods

  • Rugby

I have played rugby for my local club, Hucclecote, since I was 6, and I still play for the club.
On moving to secondary school I represented Churchdown School in the first team. I had the privilege of playing in the interschool county finals at the home of Gloucester Rugby, the Kingsholm ground.
At the age of 17 I played for Gloucestershire County against Berkshire County.
I am now the captain of the first team at Crypt Grammar school 6th form and led the team to a resounding win in the first game of the season against Hereford Cathedral private school.
My rugby career clearly demonstrates my leadership skills, excellent relationship with the teams I play for and ability to motivate and maintain high standards if the face of difficulty.

  • Football

From the age of 6 to 15 I played football for both my local club and my school.
I played for Dursley in the Junior Premier League and Hucclecote in the Severn Valley League.
I stopped playing football when rugby began to take up more time and I made a decision to prioritise studying for GCSE’s.
I learned resilience, emotional control and team work as part of a football team.

  • Skiing

I took lessons at Gloucester Ski Slope in preparation for a school trip to America that included skiing. I enjoyed it hugely and very quickly progressed to the harder slopes during the trip. Since then I have been skiing again to Austria and am a competent and confident skier.
I have learned that transferable skills are valuable in sport as in business. Sport has given me the resilience to try, fail, and try again.
