McLaren Technology Centre
I completed a week of work experience at the headquarters of McLaren in Woking Surrey. I spent time in the garage supporting mechanics where the supercars are serviced, and time in the Technology Centre where cars are designed, made and marketed.
I learned that attention to detail is crucial, as is excellent client relations, customer service and after care. It became clear to me that mechanical engineering was not my primary interest, but that there are a lot of other career paths for someone with strong maths skills.

Marks out of Tenancy
I spent a week in Edinburgh working with the CEO of MOOT, which is an online platform designed to improve standards among landlords through a system of rating, developing best practise guidance, help councils tackle overcrowding and bring properties back into use.
I learned about small business start up, marketing, social media presence and identifying revenue streams.

St Rose's School
I have completed volunteer work at St Rose’s, which is a school for students with profound and complex physical and learning disabilities.
I supported the summer scheme, and also completed some of my Year 12 community work at the school.
I learned how to interact with young people who have global developmental delay and who are pre speech. I became familiar with students using high tech communication aids, how to support students with sensory needs and high levels of physical disability including cerebral palsy.
